Cloquet senior Adrianna Pollack (left) and eighth-grader Franny Slater bite their silver and gold grand medals at last week’s state science fair competition in the Twin Cities. Both Pollack and Slater, who worked together starting in September on their projects dealing with zebrafish, were two of a record 44 Cloquet High School and Middle School students this year to participate at state and a school-best 60 at regionals under the guidance of Dr. Cynthia Welsh.
